This story takes place 625 years after the
adventures of Ash Ketchum. The Pokémon population has risen to
over 700 species. A young boy begins his Pokémon journey one
Monday morning
Eric was surrounded by thousands of fans during his Pokémon
Master Award ceremony. Everyone in the audience was loudly
chanting his name. Then, a man in a blue tuxedo walked up onto
the stage. The audience became silent. In the man's hands was a
rolled up piece of cloth tied with a red ribbon. "It is my
great honor," the man announced "to give this Pokémon
Master Award to this amazing young boy!" The man handed the
award to Eric. As Eric was untying the ribbon, the man said,"In
this scroll, contains the whereabouts of the rarest Pokémon of
all the legendary Mewzero" The audience gasped. "I know
you all think that the Mewzero is an old fairy tale, but this
scroll will lead Eric to the rarest Pokémon of all". Just
as Eric finished untying the rubbon he slowly opened it and...
BEEPAABEEPBEEP! BEEPAABEEPBEEP! Eric woke up and slammed
his hand on the alarm button. But the alarm wasn't there. It fell
to the bottom bunk of the bed. He quickly jumped off the bed on
landed on a cushion on the floor. He reached his hand around the
bed, looking desperatley for the alarm. He could not find it. He
decided to look under the bed. Not there. The floor? Nope. Where
could it be?! he thought. He then spotted it on the top bunk.
It was on the bed the whole time. He was exhausted. He looked at
the clock on the wall. It was three minutes until he had to leave
for Prof. Garrison's lab! His search for the alarm clock couldn't
have taken a half-hour! Where had all the time gone?! Quickly he
got dressed and ran downstairs. He grabbed a Breakfast Bar and
munched down on it. His Mom came into the kitchen. "You'd
better hurry or you'll be late!" his Mom said. "You
know, your father and his father, and his father's father and his
father's father's father all were late for their appointment to
get signed up as a Pokémon trainer. Most of them turned out to
be Pokémon Masters afterwards!
Why, I remember one back about 600 years ago whose name was...oh...umm...oh
yes! He was your great, great, great, great, great, great...well
you get the idea...anyway...uh...what was I going to say...?"
Eric said,"Mom, really I need to---" "His name was
Ash! He was considered one of the best Pokémon trainers there
ever was!"his Mom interrupted,"And his blood flows
through your viens, so I know you can do it!"."Well, I
have to leave now!"Eric said as he bolted out the door. Man!
This is so cool! I'm gonna be a Pokémon trainer! But I haven't
decided on which Pokémon I will choose... He sprinted as
fast as he could down the road. When he saw the building he
stopped. OH NO! It's over! I was too late! Not a single
person was at the building. He missed the whole thing.
He saw Prof. Garrison walking towards him. Yes! Prof. Garrison
is coming back! Now he could become a Pokémon trainer!
"Prof. Garrison! Sorry I'm late!" he told him. "Late?
Why, you're an hour early!" Eric was surprised. "How
could I be early?!" Eric demanded. "I don't...ah yes...you
must have forgotten to change your clocks for daylight savings
time didn't you? It was yesterday, you know." Prof. Garrison
told him."Ohhhh..." Eric was very surprised. "But
I'd be happy to give you Pokémon license now."Prof.
Garrison said.
As they walked into the lab, Eric saw 15 Pokéballs with little
symbols on them. He saw a Pokéball with a little thunder bolt on
it. "Which Pokémon is in that ball?" he said pointing
to the thunder bolt ball. "That's a Pikachu. They are the
most popular choice for begginers. Do you want that one?"
Prof. Garrison said. "No..." Eric was thinking hard."Go
ahead and take your time. It won't be another hour until...".
Prof. Garrison glanced outside the window and saw a mob of people
aproaching far off in the distance."Oh...I guess you were
just a few minutes early, not an hour..." Prof. Garrison
said as he rushed his desk."Who knows what time it is
anymore?"Eric said. "I know what you mean!"Prof.
Garrison said as he searched through his desk. He pulled out 6
Pokéballs, a Pokédex, and a strange looking mechanical device.
"Take these, your Pokédex, your Pokéballs, and your
Machineball" he said in a hurry. "Machineball?"Eric
asked. "Yes, it's used for catch..."Oak said. The mob
had already reached the door. "Uh...hmm...tell you what Eric...you
call me when you get to Pewter City ok?"Prof. Garrison said
as he called on the videophone. A recording said, "At the
tone, the time will be May 8th, 2624-8 hours, 3 minutes,
coordinated universal time".
Garrison rushed out to the door and said to the crowd"Listen!
You're all a day late! The sign up was yesterday! Go reset your
clocks later, okay?". The mob began enter the building. Eric
glanced at all the Pokéballs. He couldn't decide which one he
wanted. He just picked one at random and left the building. Eric
saw his mother and his father standing outside at the entrance.
"I brought your things, Eric," his mother said. She
handed him a large backback full of clothes, snacks, a Gameboy,
and his Gameboy games. "I'll miss ya son," his Dad said.
They hugged each other and said their goodbyes. As soon as he
started walking out of town, his Mom said, "Wait! What Pokémon
did you choose? I wanna get a picture of you and your first Pokémon!"
Eric pulled out his Pokéball and said "Pokémon! Come out!"
A blinding flash followed. When the smoke cleared, the image of a
Pokémon could be seen. Eric's Pokédex began to talk.
What Pokémon did Eric get? Will he become a great Pokémon
Master? Find out next week in Episode 2-The Ruins of Viridian
