Dr. What here. I'm trying out this new idea from my good old imagination. Hope you like it.

From Love to Fall

As Ash and his friends head off to Cinnabar Island they take a short stop to rest. Ash and Pikachu, not wanting to sit down decided to catch some new pokemon. They had little success.

"Pikachu, Pika.(We're not going to find anything.)" After enough time Ash learned to understand Pikachu's words.
"I'm Beginning to agree." Ash said as the to sat down on a stump.

Pikachu just had a look around the area as Ash's thoughts traveled away from pokemon. His thoughts lay to rest on Misty. When Ash first saw her he felt a connection. He didn't understand it for a while, but as it grew stronger so did his feelings for her. It grew into love. But he just couldn't tell her that. What if she didn't feel the same about him? That could ruin what they have now. If he couldn't have her love, than at least their friendship should be strong. The problems of life. Ash snapped out of it as there was a rustle in a bush ahead of him. Pikachu stood ready as Ash prepared a poke ball. Rather than a pokemon stepping out of the bush, it was Misty. Ash and Pikachu then relaxed and sat back down.

"No luck I take it?" She asked.
"None."
"Chu, Pi, Chu, Pikachu. (And I was hoping for a pokemon.)"
"Come on you two. We've got to get moving."
"Right, Misty."

As Ash and his friends continue on the road, others have made plans.

"So, how are we going to get that Pikachu Jessie."
"Well James, it would be easier if you made a plan."
"Well if we need a plan, we should work on it now."

Or rather, having problems making plans.

"Pikachu, Pika, Pikachu. (Ash I know you like Misty)"

As they reach a small town called Blue Stone, the three friends split up. Misty out shopping, Brock checking on the latest breeder gear, and Ash and Pikachu in the center.

"Yeah, but…"
"Pikachu. (You're too afraid to ask.)
"Argue, I can not." Ash said defeated.
"But I just can't ask. And how'd you find out anyway?"
"Pika, Pikachu, Pika, Pika, Chu, Pi, Pika. (You gawk at her while no ones looking. I don't think that means you hate her.)"
"And if I ask, and she doesn't feel the same way, the friendship will sink like the Titanic."
"Pikachu, Pika, Pikachu, Pika, cha. (Your too close for it to go down the hole like that.)"
"I just don't know what to do." Pikachu then decided to drop the subject. For now at least.
"Pikachu, Pika, Pikachu. (The others will be back soon.) Pikachu, Pika, Pika, Pi, Cha. (We'd better find a place to sleep.)"
"Right."

Meanwhile, as Misty was shopping, she was doing more thinking than buying. She didn't follow Ash for the bike, but for him. The bike was just an excuse to hide her love. But she couldn't just walk up to him and tell him she wants him and not the bike. He'd either laugh, give it a try, run off, or give her an emotional slap in the face. She didn't want to take the risk. A risk that could end their relationship as it were. She'd keep the friendship, if nothing more. She left the store without purchase. There was just too much on her mind. She didn't want the 1 out of 4 chance, she wants Ash. The odds only stand in the way.

As the friends continue on their way a plan has been made. About time too.

"O.K. We go up there, and use your Weezing's Smoke Screen, while Meowth snatches Pikachu. I'll just have to make sure they don't follow us But no poems. We do that later." Jessie said as she laid out the plan.

"Pika, Pika! (Look over there!)" Pikachu yelled as Weezing flew around blowing smoke.
"Get to clean air." Ash said, making sure Pikachu was in hand.
"Meooooooowth." Meowth said landing on his face in the mist of a foiled plan.
"Pi… ka… chu! ( Go… A... Way!)" Pikachu said as Meowth was instantly fried. The three friends and Pikachu continued on their way as Jessie and James check Meowth.
"Drat! Another foiled plan."
"Oh well James, there's always next time."
"Yeah but I'm shocked this one failed."
"Well Meowth, if your cracking jokes you must be O.K." James said, standing him up. Meowth fell right back down.
"Almost, O.K."

The Rockets just stand there until Ash and his friends reach the forest.

"Pika, Pika, Pikachu. (Come on, Just ask her.)"
"I just can't ask Misty out. I'll look like a fool."

Once again, Ash and Pikachu were discussing what Ash should do about Misty, unaware of a certain pair of eyes and ears behind a tree.

"Pika, Pika, Pika. (You've been foolish before.)
"Yeah, but…"
"Pikachu, Pika, Pikachu? (What are you so afraid of?)
"I guess I just don't know what she thinks of me."

The ears has got to be deceiving the owner. As Misty's eyes get a look over at Ash as he and Pikachu continue to talk, she sees the posture, in a slump with the head down, the tone, sad and unsure, and his hand wiping tears away, tears of loneliness and emptiness. She couldn't believe it. Ash truly cared for her. All she could do was sit and cry. Now she was to scared to do anything. She cried because she found the truth, but her fear was too great for her to do anything. Anything but cry.

"Pikachu? (What was that?) Ash raised his head.

He heard soft crying. But from where? More importantly, from who? Ash stood up. He traveled to where the sound was coming from. It didn't sound like a pokemon, but what else was out here. Brock was at camp, Misty out walking, who or what else could be out there. He was surprised to see Misty in a tight ball. She saw him, but only tightened up more.

"Misty, why are you crying?" Ash asked.
"I heard." She choked out.
"Heard what?"
"You and Pikachu. Back there. I heard what you said."

Ash was in shock. Misty heard him. Back there. What is he going to do. He sat down and placed an arm around her. Misty reached her arms around him and drowned her sobs into his shoulder. Ash had to come clean now. She knew, but she had to hear him say.
"Misty… I… I… I…" He could believe how hard it was to say three little words. Misty stopped crying and looked up at Ash. It made it harder on him, but he still had to say it.
"I… I… I love you." He finally got out as his tears came. He held his head down. Misty had to reply. She would try her best.
"Ash… I…" She was going to have just as hard a time as Ash. She cupped his chin and made him look at her.
"I… I love you too."

You ever had that dream where you're about to land the kiss, but the dream ends just before it lands. These two had those dreams many a time. But this is not a dream as the two lips come closer, and closer until they meet. They join together as the two keep the moment as long as they can. When the two separated Misty laid her head on Ash's shoulder and held it there. But there was one problem.

"Ash… We have to get back. Before Brock looks for us."
"Right."
"Pikachu. (I'll go on ahead.)" The new pair saw a yellow blur as they realized Pikachu was watching.
"Oh, I forgot Pikachu was here."
"Ash, will he… pass the word on about… us?"
"If he can."

After a long, and I mean long talk with Brock everyone got some sleep. Everyone but Ash. Misty slept with her head on his arm. Ash couldn't get to sleep. There was just too much on his mind. After Brock's interrogation the two silently decided to get some free time to themselves. Ash just couldn't believe that the two began to share their love. If it will hold or not, is yet to be seen.

"Well Meowth. Did you place that bomb?" James asked.
"Yeah. When we get rid of that kid Pikachu is as good as ours."
"All we have to do is isolate him, and BOOM! He's gone."

"Boy, What a cliff!"
"Pikachu! (Yikes!)"

Ash and his friends have spotted a forest below. The drop was not pretty. They continued to stare, not knowing the near by danger.

"Prepare for trouble."
"Better make it double."

Although they turned, they did not need to if they wanted to know who it was.

"To protect the world from devastation,"
"To unite all peoples within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love,"
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jessie."
"James."
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light."
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight."
"Meowth, that's right."
"Now that we finished our rhyme, Go Arbok!"
"Go, Weezing!"

Team Rockets pokemon came out with the plan in mind.

"Pikachu, Go!" Ash called.
"Pikachu! (On it!)

Used his swift ability to occupy Arbok. Little did he know he was the one being occupied, as Weezing snuck up on Ash, and tackled him near a boulder. What he didn't realize was, that wasn't a boulder.

"Now Jessie." James said quietly. She pushed a button and the boulder exploded.
"PIKA! (ASH!)"
"ASH!" Brock, Misty and Pikachu yelled as Ash was flung back over the cliff edge.

Misty and Brock tried to run up to the edge as the sounds of Ash's body snapping tree limbs could be hear. Before they could look down ropes were dropped across their bodies, as the Rockets used lassoes to capture them.

"Where'd that Pikachu go?" Meowth asked.
"Don't worry Meowth. If he wants to save these two he'll find us." Jessie explained. Misty looked at the grass beneath muttering only one thing.

"Ash."

Pikachu ran down to the cliffs foot as fast as his little legs would carry him. He had to find him. Pikachu saw a flash of red and stopped. It was Ash's cap. He ran up to it and moved a few branches. He found the face he was looking for. But it was unmoving. Was he even alive?

"Come on. Come on." Brock muttered silently as he worked the ropes against the wood bark.

Misty couldn't believe it. She and Ash found their love, and now he's gone. Dead at a foot of some tree, as his murders searched for Pikachu. She was so consumed with sadness, anger took a seat way down at the back of her emotional bus. Her love is no more, and she will never feel his warm body, or see his warm smile again.

"There!" Brock said as he broke the ropes.
"Let's get out of here!" He said untying Misty.
"Go on ahead." She said curling up into a tight ball.
"Misty come on."
"What's the point?"
"I know Ash meant a lot to you, he meant a lot to me, but would he want to see you like this? He'd want you to go on with your life."
"It just seems so… empty."
"Come on Misty, We'll talk about this later." She finally got to get out of there.
"Where do you think your going?" Jessie asked. The Rockets already had there pokemon out, and both pokemon and Rocket chased after Brock and Misty.
"We almost got em." Meowth said only two feet away from the prisoners. Then he Arbok and Weezing were on the wrong end of a Thunder Shock.
"It's that Pikachu! Get him!" James yelled as the new chase was on.

Misty and Brock took chase on Jessie and James. Then as Pikachu lost ground, a tree branch hit both members of Team Rocket at once and knock them out cold. As the figure holding the branch knelt at the trees foot, Misty couldn't move as she saw who it was.

"Ash!" She said quietly as he finally collapsed to the ground.

"Where am I?" Ash asked as he stared at a white ceiling.

Rather than the cold ground upon witch he fell, he was on a soft bed. A door ahead of him opened to revel a brown hared man in a lab coat.

"So your awake. You had us plenty worried."
"Where am I?" He asked again trying to sit up.
"You're in the Sea Way Hospital, in Sea Way Village. Please, don't sit up." The doctor said helping him back down.
"That must have been one nasty fall."
"Tell me something I don't know."
"How's this? You're pretty lucky that nothing was broken. We only need to keep you here for two or three days."
"Thanks."

The doctor then left the room. He placed the clipboard in a slot on the door. Brock and Misty ran up to the doctor the instant they saw him.

"How is he Doctor Roberts?" Misty asked, feeling tears coming on.
"He'll have to stay for awhile, but he's regained consensus, and outside a few bumps and bruises he's O.K."
"Can I see him?"
"Go right ahead." Misty took a few steps and noticed Brock stood still.
"Aren't you coming Brock?"
"You two need some personal time." Then Brock went back to the lobby.

Ash looked about the room, wondering how he got there. It didn't matter he supposed. His thoughts were interrupted as the room door opened. He lifted his head to see who it was. When He got a good look he saw Misty closing the door. She came up and took his hand in hers.

"How do you feel?" She asked.
"Like one big bruise." Ash replied, trying to keep the mood light. Misty put her head in his shoulder any cried into it.
"Don't cry Misty." Ash said stroking her hair to calm her.
"I thought you were dead." Misty choked out.
"I saw you fall, and I couldn't do anything. I heard you hit the ground. Then, nothing." Misty continued to cry in his shoulder. Ash held her lightly.
"It wasn't your fault. There was you could've done. What matters in that we're together."

Misty looked at him and smiled for the first time that day. She slowly lowered her lips to his in a gentle kiss. The two kept the moment for as long as possible. To her the important thing was that he was alive, and they were together. Even when they broke the kiss they followed up with another one. Their new bond was unbreakable.

The End
