Pokemon Journey
Part VI: Mt. Moon and the Rockets.
"Charmander, Go." JJ called as the fire pokemon appeared.
"Char, Char." The pair had reached Mt. Moon, but it was very dark inside.
"Lead the way." JJ called.
"Charmander." The fire pokemon replied.
JJ and Lisa had yet to run in to Team Rocket again, but the Officer Jenny in Small Pond said that Jessie and James had gotten away. After a few interviews with Jenny they were allowed to continue on to Mt. Moon. Outside of the mountain the familiar faces of Team Rocket in their trademark balloon was looking below.
"Those kids think they can get rid of us?" Jessie asked.
"Yes they do. But they don’t have the tools for the job." James added.
"All right you two listen up." Meowth said.
"Let’s not underestimate those two. We did that back at Small Pond and now we are officially victims of a Voltorb blast." Meowth hopped up to look over the side.
"That boy in particular has to have some knowledge of pokemon. He did catch a Jigglypuff, a Sandshrew, and an Ekans before going in the mountain. This kid probably has read a book or two on pokemon."
"Yes but the tunnel in Mt. Moon is long and by the time they get out they will be very tired." James explained.
"Then when they do get out we will be waiting for them, and then…." Jessie trailed off as the trio said unison.
"Revenge shall be ours."
JJ and Lisa were making good time through Mt. Moon. Not to mention the introduction into JJ’s collection a Zubat, a Geodude, and a Paras. JJ also hoped to run in to a Clefairy. They came by a flat rock and without speaking took a short rest.
"Man, sure is long here." JJ said.
"Char." The fire pokemon said as he nodded in agreement.
"You think we’ll run into those Rockets again." Lisa questioned.
"Probably. I’m betting they’re not to happy with…."
"Clefairy." JJ was interrupted by a pink pokemon.
"Ohhh! It’s sooooo Cute!" Lisa said staring at the pokemon. JJ took out his Pokedex.
"Clefairy. This unusual pokemon uses an attack called Sing witch can put humans and pokemon to sleep. Handle with extreme caution."
"Caution?!?" Lisa blurted as went over to pick up the Clefairy.
"Around this thing?"
Almost as soon as she finished the sentence, Clefairy began to sing. JJ quickly placed ear plugs in his ears. Lisa listened to the song, then she became sleepy. She set Clefairy on the rock and went to sleep. Charmander, who was not in his poke ball also fell asleep. When Clefairy stopped Singing JJ took out another poke ball.
"Pikachu, Go!" JJ called. Thanks to the ear plugs he was still standing. Soon the Electric pokemon appeared.
"Pikachu, Thunder Shock, before it sings!" JJ called.
Clefairy readied its self to sing again, but by the time it’s mouth opened Pikachu had sent bolts of electricity at it. Instead of a soft song, a cry of pain came out as it fell from the shock. JJ took out an empty Poke ball.
"Poke Ball, Go!" JJ called. As soon as it hit the pokemon, Clefairy was sucked inside. It tried to get out but the ball was too strong. It gave a chime and stopped moving to announce the capture.
"ALL RIGHT!!! CLEFAIRY IS MINE!!!" Pikachu rolled the ball over to it’s trainer.
"Thanks Pikachu."
"Pika, Pi." The pokemon replied.
"Pikachu return." JJ called. When Pikachu was inside he was ready for travel. He then removed the ear plugs.
"Let’s Go Lisa." There was no reply.
"Lisa?" Then he remembered that both, Lisa and Charmander, heard Clefairy’s song. He took out his Pokedex.
"Clefairy’s song can put humans to sleep for almost two hours." JJ then laid down on the rock. It was going to be a long wait.
HM 1 does what?
Team Rocket hid behind a rock a few yards away from the cave enterance. They waited for the two kids who beat them back at Small Pond to appear. No one came.
"Well this is boring." James said.
"We waited for almost two hours. The tunnel isn’t that long."
"Maybe they’re taken a nap." Meowth said.
"Well for what ever reason we’ll stay until those brats show up." Jessie said.
"Patience is a virtue." She said as she turned her attention to the tunnel opening.
JJ sat up on the rock. If he laid back much longer he would need a chiropractor. He heard a slight moan. Lisa was waking up. She sat up off the rock floor.
"How was your nap." JJ teased.
"What happened?" Lisa asked as she sat up on the rock. Charmander was also waking up and staggered over to the rock.
"You fell asleep." JJ answered.
"How?"
"Clefairy’s song. Remember what the Pokedex said. Clefairy’s song puts both humans and pokemon asleep."
"Then how did you stay awake?" Lisa queried.
"Ear Plugs." JJ said.
"Come on lets go. We have to make Cerulean City by night fall. Unless you want to sleep in the wild."
"No way. Let’s go" Lisa said.
Jessie was still watching the opening. It’s been a while since they entered Mt. Moon.
"What’s taking those brats so long?"
She finally spotted the two kids stepping out of the cave.
"James, Meowth, look." Her companions looked over her shoulders.
"About time." James said.
"Let’s Go." Meowth added.
JJ and Lisa finally made it out of the cave. They were only a good walk away from the next City. But before they got to far away from they cave they heard familiar voices.
"Prepare for trouble,"
"Better make it double."
JJ and Lisa turned to each other.
"Uh Oh!" They said before Team Rocket continued.
"To protect the world from deviation,"
"To unite all peoples within our nation.
Then Jessie and James leapt in front of the rock they were hiding behind.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love,"
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jessie."
"James."
"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light,"
"Surrender Now, or prepare to fight."
Then Meowth jumped up on the rock and finished off the motto.
"Meowth, that’s right."
What Team Rocket failed to notice was that Charmander was not in his poke ball, and that they were in range of his flames.
"Charmander, Flame Thrower." JJ called. When Team Rocket noticed their mistake a ball of fire had reached them.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" The trio had no time to call out their own pokemon.
"Go, Pidgy." JJ called as he tossed a poke ball. Soon the bird pokemon was ready.
"Pidgy, Gust attack."
"Pidgy!!!!"
The feathered pokemon said as it flapped it’s wing and produced a whirlwind that was heading in Team Rockets direction. Team Rocket was sucked into the swirling air and was shot into the air.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!!!!!" The Trio said as the disappeared from view.
"That answers the question on Team Rocket." JJ said.
"Let’s get to Cerulean City. I don’t want to sleep out here." Lisa said as the Pair went back on the road.
In this one day JJ had traveled to and through Mt. Moon, Captured seven pokemon, and defeated Team Rocket for the second time. No doubt Team Rocket was going after them, But JJ would be ready for them the next time they would face off.
